Job Summary:

The host/hostess is responsible for greeting customers as they enter to the restaurant, taking their reservation or putting them on a waiting list, giving the menus and showing them to their seat. As a host/hostess you will be the first point of contact for our guests, so you will be greatly responsible for the first impression that customers get of our restaurant.

Responsabilities:

• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Provide guest with menus.
• Receive and record customers' dining reservations.
• Assign customers to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seating.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls.
• Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages.
• Take and prepare to-go orders.
• Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed.
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Restaurant experience a plus.
• Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.

Descripción del empleo:
El host/hostess es responsable de darles la bienvenida a los clientes en la entrada al restaurante, tomar su reservación o ponerlos en lista de espera, entregarles los menús y mostrarles sus asientos. Como anfitrión / anfitriona serás el primer punto de contacto para nuestros clientes, por lo que serás el gran responsable de la primera impresión que estos obtengan de nuestro restaurante.

Responsabilidades:

• Saludar a los clientes y llevarlos a sus mesas o a las áreas de espera.

• Proporcionar los menús a los clientes.

• Recibir y registrar las reservaciones de los clientes.

• Asignar a los clientes las mesas adecuadas para sus necesidades y de acuerdo con la rotación para que los meseros reciban un número adecuado de asientos.

• Responder llamadas telefónicas y responder consultas o transferir llamadas.

• Operar cajas registradoras para aceptar pagos por alimentos y bebidas.

• Tomar y preparar pedidos para llevar.

• Mantenerse en contacto con el personal de cocina, la gerencia, el personal de servicio y los clientes para asegurarse de que los detalles de la cena se manejen correctamente y se aborden las preocupaciones de los clientes.

• Inspeccione las áreas de comedor y servicio para garantizar la limpieza y la configuración adecuada.

Requerimientos:

• Diploma de escuela secundaria o un título de educación general (GED).

• Capacidad para trabajar bien y eficientemente bajo presión.

• Alegre, entusiasta, cortés y confiable.

• Capacidad para manejar situaciones difíciles con éxito.

• Capaz de hacer un trabajo de alta calidad sin supervisión.

• Capaz de trabajar de pie durante largos períodos de tiempo.

• Capaz de levantar con seguridad y maniobrar fácilmente bandejas de comida cuando sea necesario.

• Disposición para seguir las instrucciones y hacer preguntas de aclaración si es necesario.

• Capaz de hacer transacciones monetarias con precisión y operar la registradora si es necesario.

• Experiencia en restaurante un plus.

• Bilingüe, fluidez en inglés y español.
